This is part of my 5 × 4 ft. Series, the large-ish scale paintings are an absolute joy to make and are flood of colors. The process involves many washes and with this piece it had many lives but ended up being a bitter-sweet splash of blue and yellow. The clash of blown out yellow and rich mellow blue to me is reminiscent of the sweet and sour play of rhubarb pie.
